MATERIALS:
Color slide (positive) film:
- Choices can be found here:
- I suggest: Fujichrome Provia 400X (RXP III) 35mm Color Slide Film
- Bring $7 to give to me - I will take your film to be processed
Book:
- Exploring Color Photography by Robert Hirsch (preferably 3rd edition but any will do)
- Find it super cheap on Amazon or Alibris:
- You MUST HAVE this book by the next class meeting, I will not be photocopying it for you in the future. Lets save the earth, some paper, and my time.
Color Negative film:
- I suggest starting with 400 speed film. There are consumer grade films and professional ones, you may start with either.
- The best deal I have found is here (also on Amazon) but as the semester progress you should try out some other emulsions (each renders color slightly differently).
- Take a look here on B&H's film page to view some of your options.
- NOTE: Cheap film may be expired......expired film can lead to imprecise color rendering. Check the date before buying!
Antistatic Cloth:
- Selections can be found here
- Canned air is OK too but not as "safe" for your negs
Fuji Crystal Archive Darkroom Printing Paper:
- Comes in Glossy, Luster, and Pearl - selections here
